Shortly before I created my business “Free Your Soul” in 2021, I was asked by my mentor a very important reflection question: “Who are you? Who are you, really?” I was invited not to overthink it, but instead to tune into my body for the answer. And to share it with the rest of the group.

I inquired, and in a few seconds, I heard from within me: “Free Soul. I am a free soul!”

I was asked to elaborate a little, so I proceeded to explain what that meant to me:

~ I live consciously, no longer living on autopilot. I have a clearer, more focused mind, free from ruminating or overthinking.

~ I live in the present moment, the only moment, which feels so liberating considering I spent a few decades of my adult life chasing myself, feeling like there were never enough hours in a day to do it all.

~ I find joy in the simple things now and tune into my playful child-like nature. Who wants to be a grown-up anyway?!

~ I feel lighter and more spacious in my body, free from tension and stress which TRE has helped enormously.

~ I trust my body for answers and guidance, realising wisdom comes from within me, and I have a toolbox of natural techniques innate in my body to rely on for support and direction.

~I tune into my true authentic self, no longer conditioned by society expecting me to act in a socially acceptable way.

~ I forgive myself and others for all hurtful events of the past, realising that they belong in the past.

~ I surrender to old behavioural patterns that arise in me today from fear, trying to protect me from failure, realising that they may have served me well once, but they no longer serve me well today.

~ I allow things to be as they are, passing through me, rather than attaching to me and causing suffering by resisting reality.

~ I have a deep sense of trust and connection with the universe. I give to the universe and in return, it gives back to me.

And so that’s how Free Your Soul was born! I am committed to helping others on their healing journey to free their soul!

So, what does it mean to Free Your Soul?

Freeing your soul is a deeply personal and often spiritual journey that involves liberating oneself from various constraints and limitations and discovering inner peace and fulfilment. It can mean different things to different people, but generally, I believe it involves the following aspects:

1. Self-Awareness and Authenticity

  • Understanding Yourself: Taking the time to understand your true self, including your desires, fears, strengths, and weaknesses.
  • Living Authentically: Aligning your actions and decisions with your true self, values, and beliefs, rather than conforming to societal expectations or pressures.

2. Emotional Healing

  • Releasing Past Trauma: Working through past traumas and emotional wounds that may be holding you back. This can involve therapy, meditation, journaling, or other healing practices.
  • Forgiveness: Letting go of grudges and forgiving yourself and others to release the burden of negative emotions.

3. Spiritual Growth

  • Connecting with a Higher Power: This can be through religion, spirituality, or a sense of connection with the universe or nature. Finding a deeper meaning and purpose in life.
  • Mindfulness and Presence: Practicing mindfulness to stay present in the moment and fully experience life without being consumed by past regrets or future anxieties.

4. Mental Liberation

  • Breaking Limiting Beliefs: Identifying and overcoming limiting beliefs and thoughts that restrict your potential and happiness.
  • Expanding Perspectives: Opening your mind to new ideas, experiences, and perspectives to broaden your understanding of the world and yourself.

5. Physical Well-Being

  • Caring for Your Body: Maintaining a healthy lifestyle through proper nutrition, exercise, and rest. Physical health significantly impacts mental and emotional well-being.
  • Releasing Physical Tension: Engaging in practices like TRE®, Breathwork, yoga, Tai Chi, or other forms of movement that help release stored tension and stress in the body.

6. Creative Expression

  • Finding Your Passion: Discovering and engaging in activities that ignite your passion and bring joy, whether it’s art, music, writing, or any other form of creative expression.
  • Allowing Creativity to Flow: Letting your creative energies flow freely without self-criticism or fear of judgment.

7. Connection with Others

  • Building Meaningful Relationships: Cultivating deep, meaningful relationships with others based on mutual respect, understanding, and love.
  • Community and Support: Finding or creating a supportive community that shares your values and interests.

8. Purpose and Contribution

  • Discovering Your Purpose: Identifying what truly matters to you and what you feel called to do in life.
  • Making a Difference: Using your unique talents and passions to contribute positively to the world and help others.

Here are my practical suggestions to help you Free Your Soul

  1. Daily Reflection: Spend time each day reflecting on your thoughts, emotions, and experiences.
  2. Apply Self-Compassion: Create personal compassionate phrases that are meaningful to you, and aligned with your values in life, to rewire negative thinking patterns, letting go of criticism, judgements, and doubts.
  3. Breathe Consciously: Practice breathing techniques daily to anchor you in the present moment. Your breath can be an anchor when you become swept away by life’s challenges.
  4. Therapeutic Practices: Practise a natural healing modality like TRE to let go of tension or trauma stored in the muscles in your physical body. Combine it with psychotherapy or counselling to work through emotional and psychological barriers.
  5. Journaling: Keep a journal to express your thoughts and feelings and track your personal growth.
  6. Nature Connection: Spend time in nature to reconnect with the world around you and find peace and inspiration.
  7. Creative Activities: Regularly engage in creative activities that you enjoy and that allow you to express yourself freely. Consider re-engaging in activities during your childhood, which might feel familiar and fun to you.
  8. Self-Care: Prioritise self-care and ensure you are taking care of your physical, emotional, and mental well-being.

Freeing your soul is an ongoing process and involves continually learning, growing, and evolving. It’s about creating a life that feels true to you and brings you a deep sense of peace and fulfilment.
